pepperwoodsthumbnail.jpgMr. Henry, the always entertaining purveyor of culinary wisdom on Manolo Food, has a post about what he cooks for his wonderful dog, Pepper.

Pepper’s Breakfast

3 lbs. boneless breast chicken
1 cup cooked lentils
½ bunch kale (or spinach) – leaves & small stems
1 sm. bag carrots, peeled baby
½ bag cranberries
2 apples
blueberries, a handful

Haha … peeled baby!! I think that was supposed to go on the next line. This guy will do ANYTHING for his dog. I know many dog people don’t like kids, but it’s refreshing to see someone be so open about it. And what about you? Feces and vegans? That is exactly why I like that extra little serial comma (although I’m in a scorned minority on that). Poor dirty vegans.

Well, Happy Birthday a while ago. For some reason I imagined I would see you or talk to you, but since I haven’t, HB2UUUUU!

Did you know that grapes can poison some dogs? Be careful of substitutions when preparing these “dog” foods; cranberries means cranberries, dammit! But do you think it would be ok to use regular cheap normal-sized carrots and just whittle them into the shape of baby carrots? I don’t want to hurt my dog’s self-esteem. Please let me know asap. Thanks and Happy Birthday again. I miss you.
