And speaking of dogs, which one does tend to do, this beautiful collie is Laurie, my very first dog. The beautiful woman is Randi Kroger, our Norwegian au pair who lived with us with her husband while he was studying engineering. I am on a sled to the right.
Here is another collie we had. He was very sweet and regal looking, but I gave him a terrible name. The Soupy Sales show was my first brush with media irony and I named this wonderful dog…Pookie. Sorry, Pookie. You deserved better.

Some people think collies look too much like Barbra Streisand. Some people think collies have pea brains squeezed into their overbread needle noses. Those people are wrong. When you’re a kid, collies are like happy, smiling, prancing body guards who happily smile and prance up to guard every body they meet. Collies rock.

I love it that you have a blog now!!! What a great displacement activity for me to engage in now!!! Way to go.
I thought Pookie was a good name. It was Soupy Sales whose name could have used a makeover. But it was because of him and other kid TV pioneers that we all got to be so cool. Check this interview with him and Sandy Becker. It’s remarkable.

Oh thank you for placing my comment in the “moderation queue.” You do not fool around when it comes to stuff like that. Perhaps I should institute a “moderation queue” on my blog. Maybe that would lend it some class. If, by some lucky chance, my comment IS approved (o pleeze o pleeze) it will “be published here soon!”.
Soon! Oh I do hope I make it out of the queue. Although, I bet the ones that don’t escape the moderation queue are some fun. Moderation is good in moderation, but too much is just too much. Y’know?
